AWPC: Homework

Him: Rev. Dr. Jake, here is your homework assignment. What are your ten favorite films in order?

I did my homework and here are the results. I am giving them publicly even though the list could be used as proof that I am a drug fiend.

  1. Easy Rider- I've watched it too much. No, really. WAY too much.

  2. Dazed and Confused- Drink every time someone says 'man'.

  3. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas- Yes, the book is better. So good that the film still makes the list.

  4. The Road Warrior- The reason I got my first mohawk.

  5. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly- Just try to get that soundtrack out of your head.

  6. Tai Chi Master- I first viewed it as Twin Warriors and the fight choreography was beyond amazing. The Chinese print is better.

  7. Love and a .45- Guns, drugs, and I Ching quotations.

  8. A Clockwork Orange- Kubric made a lot of amazing films but this is the one that can never be unwatched.

  9. The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension- Rastafarian aliens, bubble wrap goggles, and a hero who is a scientist, neurosurgeon, and rock star.

  10. Fritz Lang's Metropolis- If they were to remake this today, they'd totally fuck it up.

  11. Pirates- For extra credit. This porn took adult entertainment to a whole new level and the sequel was almost as good.

Can't say I really enjoy any of the others on that list (haven't seen many of them), but I must chime in to say: Tai Chi Masters was an amazing movie.

I have never been able to make a list like this. I change my mind to often as to what I like. Not only that but to make a list of only 10 would be near impossible.

I have seen a few films that were not real great plot or story wise but because I like the look of the film I still have to add it to such a list. Ultra Violet and The Fountain.
