Call to ban all school tests for under-16s

When we grew up and went to school, there were certain teachers who would hurt the children anyway they could. By pouring their derision upon anything we did, exposing any weakness however carefully hidden by the kids.
All national exams should be abolished for children under 16 because the stress caused by over-testing is poisoning attitudes towards education, according to an influential teaching body...

'These accountability measures are essential to maintaining and extending the improvement in standards we have already achieved,' she said. 'Parents need and greatly value the information they get from tables. Transparency and accountability are not negotiable.'
Hey! Teacher! Leave them kids alone!

Yeah, some teachers are pricks. I can think of a few. I don't know the accuracy of tests, since they seem to have dumbed them down since I was in school. Hell, kids are required to have calculators now for math. Oddly, my 12 year old doesn't know her multiplication tables. Todays kids are dependant on technology made by people who know their stuff. I think the true measure of a teacher is: Can their students perform basic math functions with out a calculator? Can they write a paragraph with all words spelled correctly without using spellcheck? Can the students write at all? Yeah, the three r's.

Of the three so-called R's, only one actually begins with an R.
