Someone here pointed out a fantastic Scandinavian film and went into detail about how Hollywood would fuck it up. I watched the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. It was incredible. (The YouTube trailer is crap.)
Another good recent Scandinavian film was Let the Right One In. For those who have seen it, prepare to be mortified by the Hollywood remake.
From what I see in this trailer, me thinks Mr. Bergstrom's prophecy of what a bad US version might look like may have been a bit conservative. Let's hope they leave that one alone.
