Walk Some More

Work is kicking off their spring health challenge, Walk to the Beach. To participate, a person has to walk 91 miles (the distance from the office door to the beach at Lincoln City) over the course of the challenge. To measure this, employees are to use pedometers to measure the number of steps they take in a day. If a person does not already have a pedometer, they are available for a mere $8 from HR. Pedometers can also be used during other activities such as running or bicycling and the handy chart HR is providing converts the pedometer numbers into an equivalent number of miles walked.

Those completing the challenge will be entered to win fabulous prizes. Five lucky people will receive... pedometers.

Since May is Masturbation Awareness Month, I have suggested creative use of the pedometers for next month's exciting new challenge, Stroke to the Beach. I'm still waiting to hear back from HR on that one.
