What's Next?

Now that we've nationalized the banks, suspended the Posse Comitatus Act, and spied on the Red Cross, what's next?

There was a big list of differences between Democracy and Fascism/Authoritarianism, but we've been crossing multiple items off that list every month this year. It's fucking alarming.

Our country hasn't seen anything like this since the Civil War, when such changes were temporary and rather more justified. Even with that context to explain them, such violations of the rights of the citizenry were a disgusting travesty that we should not be so happy to repeat.


P.S.: I realize the McBush '08 pic is only tangentially (you want fascism with that?) related to the topic at hand, but this place looks cheerier when there's a picture in at least every second blog post. I considered putting a picture in my previous post (the Palin Porno Post) but the google was too disturbing. Poor pitbulls.
