Nation of Spin

Their mistake? Marketing. They let the news agencies get hold of it before they could properly brand it. So everyone started calling it a bail-out. But the media folks have got a handle on it now.
Senate urged to back crisis bill

President Bush and Senate leaders have appealed for a new version of a $700bn economic rescue plan to be approved in a vote on Wednesday night.
See? "Crisis Bill". That sounds much better. As does "Economic Rescue Plan".

But it is forever forged in the American mind as a 'Bail-Out'. They lost the marketing angle on this one.
