You may already be a loser

The guy in front of me in line at Holiday Stationstore this morning was buying Powerball tickets with a credit card. Personally I consider the lottery a tax on people who can't do basic math, but I understand that it may provide a cheap thrill for some people, and who am I to judge other people's vices? After all, I was buying a 99¢ vial of crack. Still, I couldn't help but think how much it must suck to open your credit card statement at the end of the month and write a check to pay for a ticket that already lost, let alone to pay double digit interest on it for 40 years if you're just making minimum payments.
