playing into their hands - ON PURPOSE!

I just edited my last post to add the bulleted point (in the "stupid things the democratic leadership is doing" section) of Refusing to approve anyone to the civil liberties board, which I just learned about from RAW.

Here's the jist of the story:

In 2004, at request of the 911 Commission, a Civil Liberties Board was established. It's a 5-person board, with 3 appointees chosen by the President, and 2 appointees chosen by Congress. The first term ended in January, and no replacements have been appointed since. Why?

Bush refuses to ratify one of the appointees from Congress. So, Congress has decided not to ratify any of the President's appointees. They feel (or claim) it's rightful retaliation. But it's not. Not putting people on the civil liberties board doesn't hurt Bush, it makes him happy. He doesn't want us to have any civil liberties, after all.

Don't get me wrong, I'd rather Obama (or even McCain) appoint people, rather than Bush. But at this point, Pelosi's wholesale betrayal of the public interest makes me really suspicious of anything she's behind, and it's her leading the charge on this one.

Why is she taking a stand on this? Why waste our time playing political games on this, if she supposedly isn't willing to impeach because "impeachment is a waste of time" or "impeachment is a political game" or "if we impeach, the government will grind to a halt"?

Pelosi is clearly either:
A) monumentally corrupt
or
B) a spy / deep operative for the other team

And before you write off the option B as fantasy, hear this: I've got a relative that worked for the Republican party for a couple years. She was there as an undercover agent. She'd been a n active republican in highschool and the first year of college, then opened her eyes and switched parties. But since she hadn't denounced the Repubs publicly, the Dems talked her into applying for a job with a Republican campaign. She took efforts not to do anything illegal, but she was dishonest and sneaky. If that's going on in local politics in the land of "Minnesota Nice", it's probably going on far further up the chain in Washington. Pelosi could be a deep-cover plant, who astounded everyone by getting elected. It's not impossible.

But realistically, chances are, Pelosi's just a greedy bitch on the corporate take, selling out America for some extra PAC money. Either way, she needs to be removed from office.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.
