8-limbed 'goddess' baby becoming normal little girlTurns out Lakshmi was born with a parasitic twin. Considering the fuss the right-ti-lifers make over people on artificial life support they probably wouldn't be too ecstatic about removing the parasitic twin from the life support system it was born with. Never mind that the parasitic twin was headless, it was still a precious life in the eyes of God.
Lakshmi was born in October 2005 in the Bihar region, one of the most remote areas of India, populated by Hindu farmers.
It had been raining for days, but the rain stopped the day Lakshmi arrived. Her mother, Poonan, says she had a dream just before her daughter's birth that she should build a temple to Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and the embodiment of beauty.
And when the girl was born during the Festival of Lakshmi and the new mom saw that she had eight limbs, just like the goddess Lakshmi, Poonan and others were convinced that she was the goddess incarnate.
But it was also a false idol, a testament to the gods of the heathens and an insult to the 'One True God'®. There were certainly some pretty strange events leading up to the birth of the child. And when was the last time that the god of Abraham incarnated in bodily form? Screw Jehovah! All worship and glory to the Goddess incarnate Lakshmi!
Except now she is just another human like the rest of us. Except she isn't, because she was born with 8 limbs.
An image of her before surgery for the morbidly curious.
