CameraMan vs The Train

A superhero rescues a damsel in distress, grapples the train that was going to run her over, and flies her to safety. All from the point-of-view of his bellybutton...

Well I can see from these two clips I will not be able to be Camera Mans biggest fan. I get motion sickness much to easy. I had a headache and thought I was going to throw up after Blair Witch and after that experience I know I will never be able to watch Cloverfield.

On a positive note the movies are very short so I can sit through one without any adverse problems. If they go over 5 minutes I will be doomed. Also due to the nature of the filming it looks like there will be a lot of opportunities for chest shots and that is always a plus! I absolutely love the "help me, help me" when camera man arrives. I want that as a ring tone on my phone now.

The third one has far less of the "motion sickness" problem. It's 3 minutes long, with plenty of dialog and more stable camerawork. I'll probably have it up on Monday or Tuesday.

The chest shot in CMvTrain really cracked me up - it was totally unintentional. Without meaning to, I'd set Amy down on ground about 6 inches lower than where I was standing. That, coupled with me being taller than her gave quite unexpected results.

At the time of filming, we expected to do this like the old Pizza Face Death series, with no editing or retakes. Since then, the concept has changed a bit, but, as you said, her ad-libbed "help me, help me" was just too damn funny to reshoot.

I lied. CMvPyro has some very stable shots, but there's no denying that it has a lot of "motion sickness" footage as well.
