A new poster has been put up around my workplace. Don't worry about what the poster says. The part of interest is the number at the top of it. There were no posters in this series with other numbers on them ranging from 1-22 or otherwise. In fact I can only recall one other poster pertaining to this topic ever being put up at work and it had no number on it at all. So why does this one have a 23 at the top of it?

23 is used because 3-2=1. That is the number of people you are. Then 2+3=5. Five is one less than the number which represents the beast if three of them are placed side by side. The beast is important to note because you instantly go to hell (aka nursing home) if you do not have enough savings. 5 is also the only odd "untouchable number". This represents the fact that it is rather "odd" that saving for retirement is rather "untouchable" for most Americans.
Hope that was helpful. Next question.

That's fucking hilarious. $57,000 in 30 years? After inflation that'll probably amount to about one month's worth of living expenses.
i find it fascinating that, when x = 2 (as you pointed out earlier, your wife has two breasts), (23 - x)x = 42, which you probably recognize as the answer to the meaning of life, the universe and everything. i always knew it had something to do with breasts.
