José María Hipólito Figueres Ferrer (25 September 1906 – 8 June 1990), served as President of Costa Rica on three occasions: 1948–1949, 1953–1958, and 1970–1974.
During his first term in office, he abolished the country's army, nationalized its banking sector, and granted women the right to vote.
Yeah, so he did all that. Hero of the People, and what not. But he still got his ass kicked by a scrawny kid named "mouse shadow" who had a tube stuck up his nose.

So, apparently, there's like, more than one Jose Ferrer, and if you get them confused, it's like embarrassing or something.
