Dying on the Job

Looking to the day I retire
Funny at this pace it would be never
Dying on the job is one thing I had-
Not considered

The New Lows - Weeknights

I linked to this program before in a (sort of) tongue-in-cheek post, but it is really quite important to Baby Boomers and their Gen X kids who will have to take care of them.
At the conclusion of FRONTLINE's "Can You Afford to Retire?" Notre Dame economist Teresa Ghilarducci says that the only way many workers with underfunded 401(k) plans will be able to afford to retire will be to keep working. "So what is the meaning of retirement if the only way you can live is to work?" she asks. "The answer is, there is no meaning to retirement anymore. It's the end of retirement."
Of course, when they get too infirm to work anymore, then what? Hell, what with global warming there won't be enough ice floes left.

It's probably the reason they created the lottery. That way rather then people realizing they have no nest egg to retire they can keep hope alive 1 dollar at a time.
