Mormons on PBS

I know it was on over 3 months ago, but I just got around to watching the American Experience/Frontline joint program The Mormons. Fortunately I have machines to watch all this tedious television for me. Now that I have watched it, however, I feel that it is my duty to chide you for not having yet seen it.

For most of my life I never knew any Mormons. As a child I was raised to believe that it was a cult with some really ridiculous theology. Now since I've lived in a state with a large LDS population for several years, working and occasionally drinking with them... I still have to agree. However, is becoming the god of your own universe any wackier a belief than some invisible man in the sky impregnating a young Jewish girl? I submit that it is not. Compared to some other religions that's pretty fucked up. At least Zeus used the form of a bull and did it the old fashioned way.
