Ground Control to Major Tom

Every kid wants to be an astronaut, right?

Maybe it was my intense claustrophobia, maybe it was getting let out of class to go watch the Challenger lift-off live on TV with the other nerds, or maybe I just didn't want to live in the shithole that is Houston, Texas. Whatever the reason was, despite my ideal combination of incredible math ability and good physical health, I never wanted to be an astronaut. Instead, I wanted to be an architect--that and get laid. I put my mind to it, and eventually I achieved my goals. Although both took a while.

Going up in space and drinking lots of Tang seemed cool and all, but I just wasn't that interested. Of course, that was before I knew about the diaper-wearing kidnapper love-triangles and pre-launch pre-func booze-athons. Shit, if I had known how much fun they were having on the ground I might have wanted to be an astronaut too.

Oh well, I'm going to go take my protein pill and put my helmet on.

I always liked Tang and wanted to be an astronaut also when I was a kid. I even had records with recordings of John Glen on them from space.

Hell, I'd like to see what a re-make of the right stuff would be rated now!
