I have to hand most of the credit to the structural and soils engineers for making it stand up and, of course, to Jonathan Stoumen for the original award-winning building design. I know that I definitely violated his aesthetic intent in using steel instead of tamarack columns, but I actually like the juxtaposition of the materials. To me, it creates a visual indication of new and old, urban and rural, pedestrian and riparian, Phallus and Yoni. Besides, I think that I also managed to improve the clumsy urban interface and inefficient internal circulation of the existing layout.

Does it have one Starbucks or two?
There's a Starbucks at the other end of the block.
...so yeah, probably two.
Where is this? I have some cans of spray paint just itching to display my gang sign. Quite nice!
Very impressive. Nice to see finished work!
