Republican Party settles out of court, admits wrong doing, on the Michigan Vote Caging case.
"The settlement acknowledges the existence of an illegal scheme by the Republicans to use mortgage foreclosure lists to deny foreclosure victims their right to vote. This settlement has the force of law behind it and ensures that Republicans cannot disenfranchise families facing foreclosure."
Arrest made in case of supermarket petition fooling people into changing registration to Republican against their wishes or knowledge.
Voters contacted by The Times said they were tricked into switching parties while signing what they believed were petitions for tougher penalties against child molesters. Some said they were told that they had to become Republicans to sign the petition, contrary to California initiative law. Others had no idea their registration was being changed.
As those two articles show, heads are starting to roll. The GOP has been rigging elections for at least the past 8 years, but they're finally starting to get caught in the act. Hopefully, some meaningful election reform will come out of this.
The third story is one that involves a friend who happens to be a fiscal conservative, and my goading her into NOT doing something she damn well knew was illegal in the first place. I've typed it up for this blog three times now, and keep having to delete it because it seems too mean-spirited whenever I go into details. I'm still her friend, even if I had to lean on her heavily to keep her from engaging in voter fraud, so I don't want to get down on her too much. What matters is that the crime was prevented, because she made the right call when the chips were down. I'm glad she did what was right. I don't like being a smug self-righteous asshole or the annoying jerk that pressures his friends into walking the straight and narrow. Yeah, I do it all the fucking time, but that doesn't mean I like it. Anyhow, good for her, she done me proud!

New York ballots mis-printed Obama's name as "Osama".
Old news, but Palm Beach purged legitimate voters who had the same name as fellons.
And so on.
Fun stuff.
