Gone Daddy Gone

She had been sitting in my driveway, down with a malfunctioning transmission. When I say malfunctioning, I mean it. When second gear got tricky, I dealt with it. When first also started to screw up, I kept riding. When the third out of four gears got thrown into the mix, she sat. I didn't have the money to get her up and running again, but someday...

But now she is gone. Stolen from my driveway. No insurance on her since money has been too tight to insure a non-operational vehicle. So she is just gone and other than file a police report there isn't a damn thing I can do about it.

But I don't blame the thieves. I've already formed a picture of them in my mind. A couple of white meth heads looking for some quick cash. So they stole my $10,000 built from the ground up chopper and can parts her out for a couple hundred. But I don't blame them.

I blame Corporate America! I blame a country that has let big business run so rampant that the top 1% has actually gained ground while everyone else has seen their earnings at the very least stagnate while their savings have gone down the drain. Nobody could hold out any hope for a better future in that environment. So why not steal? You certainly can't gain any ground playing by the rules. I don't give the thieves a pass, but I do understand the system that created them.

Regardless, my mechanical lover is gone. She was a part of me in a way no other motor vehicle ever was or ever will be.

Au revoir les moto.

People fucking suck. That bike was sweet.

Do you have renter's insurance? If so, you might look in to whether or not the bike is covered the way a computer or stereo stolen from the property would be.
