You know my biggest question is "So what"? Lets say we magically convince 90% of the citizens that our political system is shit. Then we all get up in arms. We are still fucked. They don't hire self thinkers in the military. If America goes up in arms the military would mow everyone down and imprison the rest... which may be the master plan anyway.
As long as we are using magic... lets say we manage to over thrown the government. Then what? We will have all sorts of little groups of idiots tossing their power around claiming to be the authority. I fail to see any good outcome. Either we become slaves or we become refugees.
I would of course go the refugee route but honestly who is prepared to survive that? I better call up Burpee and order more seeds! If those defunct tanks on display in parks start disappearing I will more worried. My .22 really can not do much.

Agree but things were a little smaller then... country, army, guns etc etc. Not to mention people did not rely on electricity and grocery stores.
It would a be a bumpy ride to say the least. I am not sure it would work out quite the same this time?
