That "harvesting solar power in space" video has me daydreaming. Black holes and dark matter are very poorly understood, and still in the realm of theory last I checked. Wouldn't it be interesting if it turned out that everywhere we assumed there to be a black hole because no light passed, it turned out there were just really big and very efficient solar panels. The reason we weren't picking up alien broadcasts could then be because the aliens were just so good at picking up their own broadcasts and converting them back into electromagnetic energy to power their needs. That'd be cool.Don't be surprised if this crazy little notion shows up again during NaNoWriMo.
