It's Christian Bashing Week! | The Rational Response SquadOh come on! I am more than happy to set aside one week a year for bashing the Christians. Then I can go back to being publicly tolerant for the rest of the year while quietly planning for next year's Christian Bashing Week festivities.
Dinesh D'Souza can print an article entitled 'Atheist Bashing Week' and hardly anybody bats an eyelash. There's certainly not public outrage and condemnation for such blatant bigotry. He was just joking, you say? Even in all of our stunts, which are regularly criticized by atheists (often quite vehemently), we've only dared to tell people that their god doesn't exist or encourage others to say so and post it to YouTube. Even the mind disorder controversy doesn't encourage physical harm or even allude to it. If we haven't had 'Christian Bashing Week,' you can bet it's because we find the notion repugnant, even in jest.
We could hand out foam rubber whacking sticks and hunt down people with even so much as a cross pendent. I want to do it while wearing leather chaps and a vest and those little ceramic horns... and boots! We could drive them to remote locations and tie them to fences. Maybe I'll chain one to the back of my pickup truck and drag 'em to Planned Parenthood. YeeHaw!

Yep, I gotta agree that 'Atheist Bashing Week' was a really dumb choice of words, especially for a title of a column only tangentially and metaphorically related to that statement.
D'Souza comes off sounding like a jerk and a bigot. Not just because of that title either, but also because of his repeatedly calling Dawkins a coward despite Dawkins having offered other explanations. If that's how he speaks of those who turn down a debate challenge, I'm left wondering how he interacts during a debate. His belittling Dawkins like that would make me not want to debate D'Souza, either.
That said, the Rational Responders article also (most likely intentionally) takes the title out of context. Clearly, D'Souza meant "I won 3 debates against atheists this week" and not "lets go physically bash some atheists this week". Even bearing that in mind, though, D'Souza's choice of title does not speak well of him.
I moved this past week. It took the Jehovahs or was it Mormons... they all look the same, only 15 min to find me!! Now granted it was an easy challenge for them the young sharply dressed lads live just across the street and they saw me with a couch.
They offered to help me move my stuff in and I declined. I wish I had had a large heavy box with an open top and a weak bottom full of dildos and XXX videos to hand them. Now I am sure they will just stop back some evening.
I think they could use a good bashing! After all the picture of Jesus they have hanging in the window of their lair is very faded and should be replaced if they really loved the lord or savior.
