Flaunting that he doesn't care what we think. (Edited)

CHENEY: On the security front, I think there’s a general consensus that we’ve made major progress, that the surge has worked. That’s been a major success.

RADDATZ: Two-third of Americans say it’s not worth fighting.

CHENEY: So?

RADDATZ So? You don’t care what the American people think?

CHENEY: No. I think you cannot be blown off course by the fluctuations in the public opinion polls.

EDIT: In fairness, he could have been trying to say "No, I'm not saying that I don't care what American people think. I'm saying that I just don't have a lot of faith in the accuracy of any one given poll." I honestly don't think that's what he was trying to say, and if it is, he did a particularly poor job of expressing himself. But don't take my word for it, watch it for yourself. He's very much a "steer the course, and never admit a mistake or failing" kinda guy. At this point, poll after poll is showing that the vast majority of his constituency no longer supports the war in Iraq, yet he keeps sending men to die in the name of profit. I think it's clear that making a killing is the prime motivation in his making us do all that killing. I wish congress would get it's butt in gear and impeach.
