Africa 'lagging on child deaths'
Poverty and war are harming advances in infant mortality, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa...These are professional news people. The BBC even. These are some of the most respected word smiths in the industry. If they say Africa is lagging on child deaths then that is what they mean. It is now up to each and every one of us to help Africa make considerable advances towards babies dieing.
The attainment of the 2015 goal - called the fourth Millennium Development Goal (MDG), which requires a two-thirds reduction in the 1990 under-five mortality rate - 'is still possible, but the challenge is formidable', the report says.Crap! I read the headline and opening paragraph all wrong. It turns out that African babies are much better at dieing than those babies born in the 'developed' countries. In your face, Sweden!
