I mean, if you really were custom-producing purple "hello kitty" assault rifles, you wouldn't doctor a photo of a normal AK47 (AKM? AK74? AK108? I can't tell them apart even when they aren't purple) to advertise - you'd use an actual photo of your finished product. ...Still, it's kinda cute.
Do people who buy assault rifles typically seek cute? Do people who want Helly Kitty merchandise also buy a lot of guns? Seems like a niche-product that undermines the strength of your brand. I wonder what Seth Godin would say about this thing?

Thank you. I should have followed that up and caught it myself.
When the picture was first shown to me, it was from a different site, a hello kitty fan site of all things, and Amy swore only genuine hello kitty articles get listed there. I argued for like an hour that it couldn't be real, but was unable to prove my position.
