מזל טוב

I drove the truck to Home Depot the other night to pick up some window seals. I try to avoid the place, but Simon's Hardware closes at 6pm making it hard for me to buy anything during the week. Anyway, I turned down the door and window hardware aisle, and I saw one of the employees coming my direction. I didn't think much of his full beard, which is a common sight in North Idaho, but as he passed I saw that he was wearing an ornate blue yarmulke. I smiled and said "Hi", but I wanted to give him a big hug. Although my ancestors converted several generations ago after fleeing from Germany to Sweden, and I am an atheist married to a "liberation theology" Roman Catholic, I appreciate and welcome his presence here. It is one more "Fuck you!" to the infamous legacy of Richard G. Butler.

Man, it is disconcerting to see X post in hebrew. I had no idea he had Jews in his family tree.

So, to whom was the "mazel tov" directed?
