New Zealand Pop News

According to Garageland's Myspace page, they are playing a show on November 10th in Auckland. It's been nearly 5 years since their last release, Scorpio Righting. I'm not sure if this qualifies as a comeback or just a hiatus. If it's the latter, and they have been working on their new material then more power to them, but if it is just a reunion for the benefit of their fans now approaching middle age who want to relive their youth, then fuck 'em.

Note to great bands: it's okay to take a break, but once you break up, that's it. No more reunion tours, and for chrissake don't try to write more shit once your creative juices have been used up. Do you want to end up like Ozzy Osbourne, dragging his sorry ass around the world on playing the same old shit over and over again to the same old crowds? We should all be grateful that John Lennon and Joe Strummer died before they could make fools of themselves like that--well except for that Jaguar ad.
