Did Charles Keating put Joe The Plumber in play?

Source: Martin Eisenstadt's [pro-McCain] blog. I applaud his not trying to hide this, though it wouldn't have stayed hidden for long. Here's what Eisenstadt admits about Joe "The Plumber" Wurzelbacher, the supposedly average guy and small business owner who questions Obama's economic and tax policies...

Turns out that Joe Wurzelbacher from the Toledo event is a close relative of Robert Wurzelbacher of Milford, Ohio. Who’s Robert Wurzelbacher? Only Charles Keating’s son-in-law and the former senior vice president of American Continental, the parent company of the infamous Lincoln Savings and Loan. The now retired elder Wurzelbacher is also a major contributor to Republican causes giving well over $10,000 in the last few years.

Gosh, do you think maybe Joe might have had ulterior motives in asking questions? He's not Joe Sixpack, he's Joe "The Plumber". You'd think by now Republicans would have learned to avoid scandals involving Plumbers with ulterior motives. How many Nixons do you have to throw before the slaughter to figure out that lesson?

Now, for all I know, Joe Wurzelbacher could be a great, stand up guy. But he could also have been on a mission from the corrupt businessmen that he's related too. We know Charles Keating is a scumbag and a conspirator. We know McCain was a scumbag back in the days when he last worked with Keating. McCain wants us to think he's reformed, and learned his lesson. I'm more than a little scared that Keating himself may have put Joe The Plumber in play. He may have sent his relative into the fray, to discredit Obama. McCain conspired with Keating once upon a time. Perhaps Keating thinks he'll do so again once McCain has Presidential pardon powers. Hell, for all we know, Wurzelbacher might be thinking that same thing.

In fairness, I should mention that I have no evidence to suggest that. I am no journalist or detective, and the limits of my research included googling the name Wurzelbacher. The Wurzelbacher-Wurzelbacher-Keating connection via blood and marriage may be nothing more than a political version of the Kevin Bacon game. However, it may instead be a smoking gun, and I hope the mainstream press investigates, and either clears his name or exposes the conspiracy, whichever is more appropriate.

I'm glad I actually missed all this "Joe the Plumber" bullshit by working swing shift. But several sources flew with the meme. Here's my quick, uninformed opinion. Joe the Plumber is not an average, normal guy. He is a business owner. Automatically puts him in the minority.
